SkyPod is a transit solution developed by second year Interaction Design and Development students. It is presented as an immersive experience, inviting riders to take a seat in a physical circular observatory, the SkyPod. With the help of a virtual reality headset, Occulus Rift, riders become part of a virtual experience that carries them hundreds of feet in the air, flying above the towering buildings of Toronto and floating among the clouds.
SkyPod has impressed industry leaders in the Immersive Design environment by creating an accessible multi-sensory experience of the future of transportation.
Since it’s debut at the School of Design Year End Show in April 2015, SkyPod has been exhibited at Digifest, IX Symposium in Montreal, and the Intelligent Communities Forum Summit in Toronto. SkyPod has impressed industry leaders in the Immersive Design environment by creating an accessible multi-sensory experience of the future of transportation.
